Servants of the King
Servants of the King is IRS Section 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.
Established in 1985
History:
Founder, Kemper B. Crabb, was called to India in the 1980’s. After retiring from coaching, he began full time missionary work in and around northern India. In the 1990’s, he worked with Mother Teresa and also expanded his work to include Africa. Servants of the King was established to facilitate and broaden this work. SOK operates under the authority of the evangelical Episcopal Church. Kemper is an Episcopal priest and also a member of a Baptist congregation in San Antonio, Texas.
What denomination does Servants of the King build?
This is another unique feature of the organization. SOK builds churches of all Christian faiths. The denomination of the church being built is determined by the contributor and the local requests.
ABOUT:
Mission:
The mission of Servants of the King is the redemption of souls and the alleviation of suffering throughout the world.
Vision:
- To proclaim the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- Plant and build churches of all Christian denominations, until the Lord Jesus Christ returns.
- Assist established congregations of Christian faith in building sanctuaries on their own land with their own labor.
PROJECTS:
How to Have a Church Built:
Individuals, churches and organizations have built churches. These are usually brick structures with a tin roof and cost about $2,000-3,000. They are built ‘in honor of’ or ‘in memory of’ the person or church named by the donor. Depending on the location and denomination, the completion of the project can run from a few months in Uganda to a year in India. After SOK receives the donation and the information, immediate action is taken to locate a suitable site. In Uganda, there are more requests for churches than sponsors. And it’s easier to get clear title to the land there. Therefore, once the denomination and location are complete, the work goes very quickly.
Distribution Guidelines:
Servants of the King differs from many non-profits because with SOK, 100% of all mission contributions go directly to the specified project: building of churches, helping orphans, helping widows, supporting lepers, etc.
There are no administrative costs taken out of these donations for projects. Administrative costs are covered by separate donations designated for that purpose.
No transportation or travel expenses are covered by donations. Everyone must raise their own funds. All connected with SOK contribute with their own time, talent, and/or money.
SOK never asks for money- if someone is moved by the Spirit to be a SOK contributor, they will.
Volunteers:
Volunteers are needed. Please consider joining us in the mission field in India/Nepal and/or Africa. You can help inaugurate churches and/or teach the children. You can also assist local pastors with theological training. Prayerfully consider joining us. Please contact us to find out when the next team is going.
Donations:
Your gracious support of SOK brings us closer to fulfilling the Great Commission.
Servants of the King thanks you for your investment in God’s Kingdom work. You are all in our hearts and prayers.
